Solar powered new homes are increasing in popularity, especially in areas with ample access to sunshine like Southern California, Texas, and Nevada. KB homes are already some of the most energy-efficient available today, and the addition of solar panels has the potential to help our homeowners save even more money on their utility bills.

KB Home began offering SunPower® solar panel systems at select communities beginning in 2011, and to date has built over 1,600 solar powered homes! Combined, these photovoltaic systems are expected to save KB homeowners over $1 million annually on their electric costs.

Check out this report from Bloomberg News that explores the rising popularity of residential solar, and this clip from our solar power provider SunPower that features an interview with two solar KB homeowners
